Family photography at Holdsworth House

Holdsworth House in Halifax is an absolute gem of a place. Renowned for an excellent wedding venue, hotel and restaurant I was delighted when my client asked if their family portrait session could be held there. I have known this wonderful lady for years as we used to work together many moons ago so it was fabulous to meet up again and get to know her sons and grandchildren. We met on a sunny Sunday in July 2019 and started the morning exploring the grounds of the hotel, particularly the herb garden with its winding pathways. I never rush my family photography sessions, preferring to be an ‘observer’ gently guiding if required.

I always ask my clients to bring along favourite teddies or a toy for their little ones and I was delighted when both children brought along theirs. There was a strong bond between the family and I loved how the parents, grandma and uncle all interacted differently with the children… so many wonderful personalities. We had plenty of laughs along the way and finished the family photography session with a fabulous lunch in the bar (thank you again guys!).

If you’ve always fancied a family portrait session, then please get in touch. We can spend a morning or afternoon together at one of your favourite places and I will capture some beautiful images for you in a relaxed way. No need to be scared of the camera, I always have one family member on each photography session who is camera phobic – by the end of the session they have forgotten about the camera and are just being themselves! I look forward to hearing from you soon.
