Last year, I had the pleasure of producing some Brand Photography images for Louise, the founder, of Go-Low. Go-low is a small artisan producer of healthy low-carb and keto baking mixes. It is based on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Louise commissioned me to take photos of the Go-Low products together with some headshots and story-telling images to be used across the new website (to be launched soon) and social media.
At the start, it was really important for me to understand a few key things to get a clear vision of the type of images to take. We discussed what makes the brand tick; what her passion was behind the venture; what story should the images tell and finally how the products were to be styled. We gathered ideas from Pinterest and then produced a ‘style’ board’ to work from.
Fresh produce is essential for food photography. Louise baked all the products that morning – so the kitchen smelled amazing! We experimented with different plates, garnishes, props, and backgrounds to give a lovely range of photos for her portfolio. It was also great fun photographing Louise for the headshots too and I am super pleased with the authenticity of the final images.
I’ve been working with a number of local businesses over the last year producing fresh imagery for their brands. In my previous career, I was a Marketing Manager for 14 years. During this time I gained my marketing diploma and finally an MA in Marketing so I just love working with businesses and putting my old skills to use!
