I first met these two lovely sisters at a Christmas fair with their wonderful Mum.. we immediately hit it off and got very excited about their photoshoot at the beautiful Harewood House, Leeds. Keen to have a summer photoshoot the girls planned to wear gorgeous floaty dresses with sandals and have a relaxing stroll through the grounds of the house with their parents.
I couldn’t wait for this family portrait session and all year I was hoping for a lovely fine day. When we met in the car park it was drizzling so we took cover in one of the cafes for half an hour (which as you may know is one of my favourite past times!) then the sun came out and stayed with us for the rest of the day. I had a fabulous time with this family, we chatted all the way around the lake and the girls were amazing. There was such a strong bond between the sisters – it was lovely to see. Harewood House never ceases to amaze me no matter what time of year I photograph there.. every time I discover another hidden gem. Following the photoshoot the family chose to buy a heirloom album and have their favourite photograph framed to hang in their lounge.
I delivered the album and stunning frame a few months ago and received this testimonial which made me very happy… thank you x
“From start to finish Cecilia Costello completely exceeded our expectations. The photo session with our two daughters in the grounds of Harewood House was such a fun experience, made so by Cecilia’s friendly and relaxed approach.
Before even getting out her camera, Cecilia chatted with the girls and really wanted to get to know their personalities. Nothing was too much effort for Cecilia and over the course of a thoroughly enjoyable morning she captured some stunning images of our family.
We are absolutely thrilled with the end results and the album and photographs will be treasured by our family for many years to come. Thank you Cecilia, it’s been a pleasure meeting you and you’ve made the whole process a delight.”
It makes my day when I receive lovely feedback from my clients – it’s the icing on the cake. Below I’ve selected a number of favourite images from the day. Some of the images I’ve presented in colour as I think the muted tones work beautifully across the clothing, skin tones and woodland. Then some of them I’ve converted to black & white (which as you know is my favourite) and these really convey the bond between the sisters. Enjoy and feel free to comment below. Thank you.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this selection of photographs from a family portrait photography session at Harewood House, Leeds. If you’d like me to capture your precious moments and turn them into timeless pieces of art please contact me and I’d be delighted to chat through your requirements.
