I last photographed this amazing family when Henry was a little baby… so a few years ago now. When Sally contacted me again I was thrilled. We had a lovely morning in HD6 visiting a place that held very special memories for the family. It’s really important to me on my on-location family portrait photography sessions, to visit somewhere that has meaning for the family. The images become more than just photographs – they become treasured memories that they can pass down through generations and remember the special place forever.
This was a VERY steep hill. I love new locations on my family portrait photography sessions and this one was no exception. We all started off in a small tree-lined park which was beautiful. Unfortunately though the gas board had visited the day before and dug up the lane so there were lots of yellow signs to contend with! Anyway, it made my job more challenging which I love.
We ate apples and crisps to keep us going, looked for minnows in a little stream (I couldn’t find any) and went for a lovely long walk. Both kids were amazing on the shoot and we chatted freely about school, swimming and horse riding. They couldn’t wait to show me some horses and we stopped and fed them bits of the left over apple.
I hope you enjoy this selection of images from the children & family portrait photography session in Brighouse. Thank you.
And now my favourite black & white memories from the day.
And this is just one of the lovely products that now adorns their wall. It’s a beautiful large frame with six of their treasured memories.
